There are so many must-dos and must-sees in Port Douglas it can be difficult to know where to begin.

A good start would be a stroll across the sugary-white sand of Port Douglas’ world famous 4 Mile Beach surrounded by lush, green rainforest, taking pleasure in the sensation of warm tropical waves as they wash over your feet.

Port Douglas is the perfect place to snorkel or dive under the sea to discover the incredible and diverse marine life that inhabits the great reef system.

Two celebrations draw tourists to Port Douglas by the droves, sometimes doubling the small town’s population.

First is Carnivale that begins in May with a parade and carries locals and tourists through 10 days of food, wine, art, entertainment and exciting family fun.

Then, there is Porttoberfest, Port Douglas’ very own beer festival that is fast becoming a tourist favourite. (You may want to contact one of the babysitting services to keep the kiddies occupied for this one.)
